Answer Readiness
Is Your Content Structured for AI to Quote It?
Answer Patch calls this "citability" — how easily a single passage stands on its own as a direct, well-supported answer. The audit checks whether your content leads with the answer instead of building up to it, uses clear headings that map to real questions, and includes FAQ-style blocks AI systems can quote verbatim.
The audit
What Gets Checked
- FAQ blocks: does the page include question-and-answer pairs an AI system can lift directly?
- Heading structure: do headings map to the questions a searcher would actually ask?
- Direct-answer openings: does copy lead with the answer or bury it after a preamble?
- Passage citability scoring: can individual passages stand alone as a quoted response?
- Content depth and structure: is there enough substance for an AI to cite with confidence?
Why it matters
Why Answer Readiness Matters for AI Search
AI search engines don't link to your page and let the user read it — they quote a passage inline and may or may not cite the source. If your content buries the answer after three paragraphs of context-setting, the AI either skips you or paraphrases badly.
Pages structured as direct answers with clear headings and FAQ blocks give the AI something quotable, which is how a citation happens in the first place.
